Visiting the Black Bobbin Showroom

Black Bobbin's showroom is located on the second floor of the Flatiron Arts Building in Chicago, Illinois. The door to the building is locked during business hours. To enter the building, please use the touchscreen callbox next to the door at 1579 N. Milwaukee Ave.

How to use the callbox:

Select "Browse Residents" and scroll down to find Black Bobbin. Click on Black Bobbin so we receive a notification that you have arrived.
Listen for an audible "click." After the click, the door will be temporarily unlocked. You'll likely meet a security guard at the base of the stairs. If asked, tell them you're visiting Black Bobbin.
Head upstairs. Directly past the door is a stairwell and elevator you can use to reach the second floor. At the top of the stairs, turn right and look for the blue door at the end of the hallway.

Note: We occasionally experience technical difficulties with the building's callbox system. You can also call us (312-248-2953) to let us know you've arrived.

Public Transit

Black Bobbin is located steps away from the CTA Blue Line - Damen stop. Exit the station on Damen Ave. and walk north approximately one block to Milwaukee Ave.

The following CTA bus lines have stops within one block of the Flatiron Arts building: 50 (Damen & Milwaukee/North Ave), 56 (Milwaukee & North Ave/Damen), and 72 (North Ave & Milwaukee/Damen).

Parking

Black Bobbin does not have a dedicated parking lot, but paid hourly street parking is available on nearby Damen, Milwaukee, and North Avenues. Save time by downloading the Park Chicago app before your visit.
