This 1972 Ovation Tornado is a great example of Ovation’s distinctive approach to electric guitar design during the late 1960s and early 1970s. With its thinline hollowbody construction, dual pickups, and unmistakable vintage styling, the Tornado offers a sound and feel that stands apart from more conventional American electrics of the era.
The hollowbody design gives the guitar an open, resonant character, while the dual pickups provide plenty of clarity and definition. It moves easily between warm, rounded rhythm sounds and brighter, more articulate tones, making it particularly well suited for blues, rock, roots, jazz, and vintage-inspired playing.
This 1972 example is in good vintage condition, showing honest signs of age, playwear, finish wear, scratches, dings, and natural patina consistent with a guitar that has been played and enjoyed for more than five decades. These signs of use add to the character of the instrument while preserving the unmistakable feel of a genuine vintage guitar.
Includes a hardshell case.
